Today was our final clinic day, and the team did an incredible job serving patients with compassion, joy, and the love of Christ. Today’s post comes from Amanda who, spent the day in a counseling station.
Hi! I’m Amanda and today I got the opportunity to be in a counseling station with some really amazing people. The first few women who came through were with their children, and they seemed more closed off than people I had met in the past. Both women told me they were Catholic, which was a little discouraging because I wasn’t sure what to say or how to witness to them in a way that didn’t pressure or offend them. But then, the Lord did something very unexpected with the next woman I met. She was a member of the Catholic church as well, and we had a very fruitful conversation and prayer about her relationship with the Lord. After the prayer, she told me that she was so grateful for what we were all doing and that even though we were different denominations and believed different things, we all served one God and He was the one that brought us together. I felt that the Holy Spirit had spoken through her to all of us, and that really encouraged me about all the Catholic patients our team had met with.
The next man I met, Agustín, had a beautiful testimony about the Lord’s provision in his life. He told me that he was grateful to be alive after a major construction accident and surgery that removed a part of his liver. He showed us his scars and said that he knew God had a reason and a purpose for saving him. Agustín also told me that his son was struggling with alcoholism and not walking with the Lord. When I prayed for him, for the first time I felt Jesus speaking through me. I kept praying and more words kept coming to me to offer up Agustín and his family to God. There was so much I wanted to say and so many emotions flowing through me, and with every person after him I felt the same thing. They all kept telling me about miraculous signs they had seen and convictions that had shaped their relationship with Christ. Even though we ended up meeting with about eight people, the time flew by and I couldn’t wait for the next person to arrive.
I am so grateful to have met everyone I did and that they were able to be vulnerable with me and my translator Jenny. This experience was like nothing I’ve ever felt before, and being able to both witness to and engage in discipleship with people in the church was really incredible. God is so faithful and intentional!!!

This is Copeland. that was a very moving account and it was said in such a way that I truly believe the Lord is serving Guatemala through you guys and it is really encouraging and beautiful to hear these stories.

Amanda, thank you for sharing with us the Lord’s faithfulness and provision in your counseling sessions. The way He spoke through you is just like Him! He shows up like that when we ask for guidance and listen to the Holy Spirit’s voice. When you leave, He is going to use those words to minister to them. Those words will stick with them. I am so blessed by all that you and your team have shared with us this week. I know He will use this mission trip to shape your future because I have seen Him do it in my life. God is so good!
Vance- I can’t wait to see you tomorrow! I have missed you! Love you so much, Mom

Amanda, I am moved by your testimony of the Lord’s faithfulness to you as you submitted to the Holy Spirit guiding your prayers and conversations at the counseling station. Thanks for sharing your beautiful heart!!
Hearing the stories and seeing all these precious pictures of y’all serving with joy yesterday brought tears to my eyes. If I am so moved, I can’t help but imagine how much you have moved the heart of your Abba Father too.
Luke, every picture of you has had the biggest smile filled with confidence and joy. Lauren, seeing your sweet smile and joy playing with and planting seeds with all the children is just a gift. You are clearly a delight to your Heavenly Father just as you are to us! Tim, I see a young man walking with peace and strength as you lead, pray for and spend your time this week. And to the rest of you awesome friends that if I name everyone this would be the longest post read ever – ha! – it’s a joy to witness each of y’all! I can’t wait to hear your stories!!
To all the adults on this trip – thank you!!
