Today was a day of worship, training, and preparation for the team. .
This morning we worshiped at a church in Antigua where they graciously gave us radios and headsets so we could listen to an interpreter translate the sermon. It was really special to worship alongside our brothers and sisters here, even across language differences.
After church, we enjoyed an incredible brunch together with beautiful views of Antigua and Volcán de Agua. It was a chance to rest, laugh, and take in the beauty of this place before our work begins.
Later in the day, we met with Dr. Alb for training for the medical clinics we’ll be part of this week. He walked us through the practical details of how the clinics will run, but he also reminded us that the tasks we complete are not as important as the people we will meet and the ways God will use us to love and serve them.
Thanks for your continued prayers and support! We’ll try to post each evening, and we hope to have students write some of the updates so they can share their experiences in their own words.

Hey team! So glad to hear you had safe travels and an immersive and fun first day together in Antigua. We are praying for each one of you as you begin serving tomorrow. Praying for safety, discernment, good health and specifically Joshua 1:9 that you “be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go!” God loves you so very much and so do all of us praying for you at home. P.S. Don’t stay up too late boys!! 🙂

Hi Lauren it’s Dad here. We’re so proud of you and the entire team visiting Pastor Herman and our Guatemalan brothers and sisters in Christ. It’s a rainy Sunday afternoon here and we’re planning to watch some soccer tonight. I’m curious which team (teams?) Guatemalans cheer for in the World Cup? We love you, miss you and we are praying for everyone.
Hey Lauren we miss you we hope you stay safe -Andy Jr.
Hi Lauren its John we all miss you and I hope you have a great time serving people i cant wait to hear all the crazy stories from when you get home- John
Hi Lauren its Charlie I want to say hi. I am checking on how you are doing. You told me to write to you every day.
E-E! I miss you!
I’ve already peaked in your room a number of times hoping to see your little blonde head. No one came in my room, flopped on my bed and gave me a late night update last night. I miss your little face. Also, it hasn’t gotten too bad yet with the sports and the impromptu wrestling but as you know I’m the only girl left here without you (UPDATE: FALSE. Wrestling just led to one of your brothers getting a bloody nose.).
Seriously, though, we are so proud of you and the entire team. BRAVO EVERYONE! You could have been doing so many different things this week but you chose to leave your comfort zones and give of your time and energy for the sake of the gospel and for the Glory of Christ and I am so proud of each of you. You are EACH an answer to prayer as we have prayed for Christian community for our family. We are thankful.
Praying for safety, health, encouragement and that each of you would grow in your personal relationship with Christ on this trip.
Love you, Sissy.
Much much love, Mom-Pom
