First Clinic Day!

Written by: Lila Hjerpe

Today has been filled with lots of new experiences for many of the students (and leaders!). For me (Lila) this is especially true as it’s my first year going on the Guatemala mission trip.

Today was a village day, and we went to San Luis Letran. The people there were such sweet people. We got in and it was a bit hectic at first, but once we got situated it got much better. I was assigned to play with the kids with one of my friends, Lauren. We started off by doing worship songs with the kids, and I realized how out of shape I am. We got to jump around and have loads of fun. We then prayed and moved into a story time. Lauren and I sat in the back as a wonderful lady read to the kids. Afterwords, we did loads of coloring, bubble blowing, and face paint. Once all the kids left, we cleaned up and went downstairs to the main church and waited for lunch to be ready, which by the way was amazing. We said goodbye, and headed back to the compound. Day one complete! 10/10, and such an eye opening experience. So excited for the rest of the week and new experiences.
